Carrenza had reason to celebrate last night as it picked up the award for “best community project” at the BCS and Computing UK IT Industry Awards for its work with Comic Relief.
Carrenza successfully worked with Comic Relief to lead a five year technology strategy and deliver systems to support this, whilst guaranteeing the management of unprecedented levels of traffic to the websites and donations portal, and for free.
In six months, Carrenza:
- Virtualised the whole Comic Relief hosting environment across three flagship sites (www.comicrelief.com , www.sportrelief.com and www.rednoseday.com)
- Worked with the technical partners as well as introducing new corporate partners, including PayPal and 3Par
- Re-engineered the three critical business systems
- Deployed the re-engineered systems to the virtualised hosting platform
