Business in the Community

Race for Opportunity (RfO) is part the corporate responsibility charity Business in the Community. Speed delivered a retained programme over four years, successfully raising the profile of the charity and its national head, Sandra Kerr, to both influence and be seen as an influencer of government and business leaders and establish it as the race diversity campaign improving employment opportunities for ethnic minorities across the UK.

Speed achieved this through day-to-day PR activity focused on driving awareness and debate with proactive commentary, and a series of hard-hitting and in-depth national research reports to raise RfO’s profile and challenge wider thinking.

Speed has managed, commissioned and publicised major research reports from RfO including, “Aspiration and Frustration”, “Race to the Top” and “Race to Progress”.

RfO expert commentary and its reports were regularly featured in broadcast (BBC Radio 4 Today, BBC Radio 5, LBC and Sky News) and national (The Guardian, The Independent, The Telegraph and The Times) press, as well as a comprehensive range of key trade press. RfO is now backed by the UK's best known and most admired organisations, including many FTSE 100 companies, and through the reports RfO has become a respected lobbyist for change. It is the only race diversity campaign that has access to and influence over the leaders of the UK’s best known organisations.
