Celtic Manor celebrates Celeb Cup in style

The stars came out in force recently for Celtic Manor’s annual celebrity golf tournament.

Legends from the world of sport and showbiz, including Brian McFadden, James Nesbitt, Peter Jones, and the cast of Mrs Brown’s Boys took part in a thrilling clash between teams representing England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales.

The two-day event gave visitors the opportunity to walk the fairways with their favourite stars as well experiencing the VIP treatment at the glittering gala dinner.

The Queen’s granddaughter Zara Phillips and her husband, rugby legend Mike Tindall were also in attendance. They surprised and delighted guests by taking to the stage during the gala dinner to perform a pitch perfect rendition of Paul Simon’s You Can Call Me Al.

Speed managed the full PR and influencer programme for the event, from generating buzz and excitement in the lead up, to running the fast paced media centre, hosting key journalists for the VIP luncheon and gala dinner, as well as handling the post event follow up.

The key objective was to build fame for the resort, so it was our job to ensure the Celebrity Cup hit the headlines in a big way. We’re pleased to say over 70 pieces of coverage have been secured, including national titles, such as The Daily Mail, The Sun, Hello, The Express as well as prime time TV coverage on ITV Wales.

On top of this, Speed also supported ticket sales with a robust digital campaign, as well as targeting key regional media and influencers to build local interest for the event.
